I have customers bringing in beautiful slides shot before digital cameras were even thought about. The slides work very well for wide screen images in SD or HD. Is there a tutorial for converting the images into a format that can be used in Photo Studio 2? My PC is equipped with a Nikon High Rez slide scanner and Photoshop LE if that is any help. In PhotoShop:
RESET levels: Digital uses a value of 16 for black and 235 for white.
You must use
RUN THE IMAGE>ADJUSTMENTS>LEVELS or ENHANCE>ADJUST LIGHTING>LEVELS or CTL+L for either of the aforementioned.
TYPE 16 into the first input level box.
TYPE 235 in the third input level box.
NOTE: White levels don't always have to be adjusted. Anywhere up to 255 gives you a 101-110 IRE.
NOW...if you want to make a print of a video still beware that your still is set for video at 720 pixels X 480 Pixels. This is a bad resolution of only 72 DPI.
SOoooooooooo...........let's now change the resolution. A safe DPI is 300.
CHOOSE IMAGE>IMAGE SIZE. Simply enter/type 300 pixels/inch. Constrain Proportion box is UNCHECKED. .
I then like to adjust the color, brightness, hue and sharpness.
FILTER>SHARPEN Do NOT use UNSHARP MASK.
