What is the best software that I can use with ny Renommee to create professional lower third titles for corporate videos? Any opinions on Casablanca's TitleBax?
Thanks

Simply by clicking on the title mode, you can put the box where you want the title to be, and likely find a font that looks professional, as well. Title bax are nothing more than backgounds for titles. If you want a title to move around and so forth, then 3D titler is your program. I've used it a time or two, to good effect.

Unless you are looking for animated lower thirds, you can also use about any background image by sizing a box to the lower thirds size you want and then fill the box by choosing the graphic image after checking the "Use Graphic" box. Archiving the lower third title and name in the title graphics archives makes it available for future lower thirds titles. (Personally I prefer the static lower third BG to animated simply because it creates less distraction YMMV)

Hello,
You will find a streaming video lesson of the topic you requested on my website here
http://www.casablancaexpert.com/categories/webinarpost
This lesson was part of the Casablanca Webinar - General Session #5, held Wednesday 5/27/09 (sponsored by MacroSystem US). Scroll down and look for the video titled "Part 2 of 2:Using the Box options in the Casablanca titler to produce creative titles" (Length 25:32)
This demonstrates the use of the Box Options to create more professional looking title boxes, specifically for lower thirds titles, etc.
As far as Title BaX, it is a good program that you can use with the Box Options to add appropriately created graphics specifically for lower thirds applications. If you are on a Bogart OS unit, I also highly recommend checking out the Anim X software -- there are 45 animated lower thirds graphics that look really good! And remember, you can install Title BaX in the demo mode to check it out to confirm your preference prior to purchase if you like.
Hope that helps!
Regards,
Chet

I've been using Anim X for my TV show and it is cool. But I don't spend enough time on my titles and they don't always look the best.
On my feature, Crashing the Party, that I cut on the AVIO last year, I worked on the Character width and so forth and after a few hours of toying with fonts and size, shadow, etc., I found a look that I liked. The system gives you a great deal of manual control over the titling. And adding background colors by tweaking the alpha settings helps set your titles off the video image.
But I'm still struggling with custom logos. The new system has a add graphic function in the finish menu that I've only tried once. I've wondered whether you could use it with a png image, and then make a scene of that finished project and import it into another with the logo intact. That way you could have the logo come and go. That finish option runs the logo over the whole project.
I need to consult Chet's website about that.

Hey-ho Jonathan,
Unfortunately right now we cannot use a .PNG file in the 'regular' titler, just in that new feature in the Finish Window.
You could however convert your PNG to a JPEG and load via Photo Transfer and then into the Custom Patterns in the Image Pool, you could then incorporate that into your custom logo using the background/graphic functions in the Box Menus of the Titler and then Archive that to bring up in your various projects.
I touch on this a little in the webinar referenced above as well as in the new Smart Edit 8/Bogart 2 Tutorial DVD I have recently released.
I also have plans to produce a Tutorial DVD just on advanced titling with your Casablanca in the coming months.

Chet
