Adobe Photoshop - png's

Hi everyone,
I am trying to use a company logo that I made a png out of with a transparent background in Adobe Photoshop.
I am trying to get it into the Renommee, with no success. Does Renommee only recognize jpg files?
I do have Photo Studio 2 and Photo Transfer and have been using a SD card for the transfer of logos from Adobe Photoshop into my Renommee.
I also have Bluebox World, if that is needed to make a transparent background in the editing system itself.
My understanding is that the only way to create a transparent background of a logo is to make it a .png file, is this correct?
Yes, I am melting from the heat, we got any members in the mountains who have a guest room?
Many thanks,
Kim Williamson

'Fraid so - .jpg is the one Cassie likes.
If the background is of a suitable colour (sorry color) then Blue Box could be used to try and key it out.
You ought to come over here to escape the heat - problem is you'd then probably then need a boat ;-(

Kim, you can make a transparent background in a .jpg file with Adobe Photoshop:
Click on File, New, scroll down to "Background Contents." Click on the dropdown menu and select "Transparent" from the three choices. Then, open the file with the logo and move it over to the new file with the transparent background.
When you're ready to save and move to your Casablanca, you have to flatten the image, of course.

thanks guys,
yeah, we need to speak to the rain gods aout thier distribution strategies.
Tom, I did try the steps you described, to get the transparency, maybe I missed a step. When the .jpeg with transparent background is imported into Renommee, does it appear with black or white in the background still, or does the logo appear without any background?
Sorry I am so lacking in expertise with logos, but am learning, slowwwwwwwllllllyyyyyy.... thank goodness for this forum and all you techies!

Hello Kim,
In the Casablanca system only a JPEG file can be used as a still to import in your video folders (projects).
There is one place where you can use a .PNG file and that is in the Finish window of the latest OS (either Smart Edit 8 and/or Bogart 2).
This new function allows you to overlay a .PNG graphic/logo onto your Storyboard as a watermark. Since you are a member of my website, you will find that tutorial here:

Hope that helps!
Regards,
Chet

thank you Chet and Lou,
I do not have CB Paint, yet! I hear it is awesome and has steep learning curve, but it is worth the time invested!
Best, Kim
