I am excited too about this new machine. I Just don't like the fact that new OS of Bogart is so unstable, that I am really thinking of moving over to PC editing platform like Sony Vegas Pro 9! I don't understand why Macro System Germany can't fix those "little" problems and, believe me after that, there will be so many new customers wanting to buy new S-4100 models. I am just afraid to jump from Renommee Plus (which I make good money with - don't have any problems whatsoever
) to S-4100. But there is a glitch: We are all good now because we still make a SD DVD. But there is some point where customers are gonna be asking for a Blu-ray
What's then
There is still some time we can wait for fixes, but not for long. Anyway, I been downloaded a trial version of Sony Vegas Pro 9, and so far, I can learn the editing very fast.

I once again have faith that MS will tweak the Blu-Ray operations of the new Bogart OS. I am pleased with the progress they have done with the recent OS updates. Blu-ray will get there. As far as Vegas, no thanks, they have there issues as well. I am not willing to start over with a new platform. I have used MS products since 1996 and I am very pleased with their products. I know there are a few more bugs and issues to work out, but they are progressing.
I too have the solid Renommee Plus, but I will soon get the S-4100.

I have to agree with JOEL. I remember attending a FINAL CUT seminar. I watched the instructor "CUT-TO-THE-BEAT" using FCP. I exclaimed to my friend, another MSUS owner, how much easier our editing interface happens to be to accomplish the same function. My buddy agreed with me.
I am not saying that there are NO PROBLEMS with the current OS. But, having been on-line lately, I can assure myself that it appears almost ALL editing platforms have issues. One, in particular, requires changing codecs all the time, while another requires that AVCHD not be used at all BUT changed to a compatable import codec. With our OS, we can import AVCHD,MP4,DV25,.m2t,WMV....HDV all in ONE project.
As for Blu-ray, I am burning OUTSTANDING HD Blu-ray and HD DVD's via ARABESK.
Yes, I will like to see menus which will be forthcoming for HD.
I would also like to see the downconvert process be cleaner as well.
However, it appears that MS is constantly trying to improve the OS and not leaving anyone in a lurch. I guess it is "growing-pains" now that the OS is a LINUX system.
Lastly, we are BLESSED by CHET'S Macrosystem specific site http://www.casablancaexpert.com for direct and current information.
