Using just sound from a video clip

Hi, I have some really bad video footage from my nephew's wedding from some years ago. The video guy placed some music under some of the footage. I want to take the music only and then do some highlights with the music without having to use the insert method. I have not stripped the sound from footage before and used it. I played around with it some and couldn't figure it out. Neither could I figure out how to do a search of the archives. Any help would be appreciated. As you can see I have 3.6 OS. Thanks.

Select Scene, Special, scroll to Scene->Sample, Ok.
That will put the audio of the Scene in your Audio-Record, Edit menu where you can Split, Trim and Tweak it.

It is not clear from your description as to what this footage is on, tape, DVD or what.
Anyway, the easiest way to take audio from either, is to play it on the appropriate player, DVD or tape player and feed the audio into your Avio via a set of RCA audio leads. Use the audio record function on you’re your Avio.
If you have already fed the video into your Avio, then using “Special” – "Scene -> Sample", will place the audio only into your audio record bin.
However, no matter what method you use, it will not be possible to separate out the music from any other audio on the recording, but if your recording has just the music, then either of the above will be fine.
