I had a problem today that I haven't run into before. I had a project that I shot a couple weeks ago and the guy we were interviewing had a very basey voice. I noticed it when I shot it and took some base out with my Macky. Evidently I didn't take enough out. It sounded good in my headset when I shot it. I had already dumped it in my Renommee when I went to edit it and noticed it was hard to understand what he said. I messed with it for a while but ended up putting it in agin using a mixer to reshape the sound. Is there any software available that would let you manipulate the audio? That would be nice. I don't have a very good mixer to input audio. I use an old radio shack mixer. It works good for most things but it doesn't have a lot of room to manipulate the sound. I have a nice Macky 1202 I use in the field. I guess I need to get a smaller passive mixer for the field and use my Macky in the studio. Live and learn. Bob....

The Audio Effects Pack might have some tools that would help. Here's a couple of things you could try - but I have no idea how well they'd work in your case.
Filter
Filters (suppresses) frequency ranges in a sound. You could, for instance, use a lowpass
filter to make a music recording sound distant.
Intensity: How strong an influence the effect will have (100% means maximum, 0%
means no effect)
Filter type: Filter characteristic curve, i.e. which range of frequencies is allowed to pass
Frequency: At what frequency the filter will begin taking effect
Tone control
Allows you to adjust the tone. This effect works in a similar way to the tone controls on a
hi-fi sound system. If, for example, the voice of the narrator in a recording is drowned out
by other sounds, you can improve the situation by slightly boosting the mid frequencies
whilst slightly reducing the treble and bass.
Low: Adjust the low frequency range
Mid: Adjust the mid frequency range
High: Adjust the high frequency range
PitchShift
The pitch of the sound is changed. This effect can be used to subtly correct the pitch.
Although strong changes to the pitch unfortunately also diminish the sound quality,
it is nevertheless a lot of fun!
Intensity: How strong an influence the effect will have (100% means maximum, 0%
means no effect)
Pitch: Percentage change in the pitch
