Help - DVD Menu

I have a Prestige Operating on SE v8.1 and Arabesk v.2.4a
The problem:-When more then one film is on the DVD menu I can play back only the first film.
Here are some facts and actions I took so far:
1.I have been using the DVD menu for many years with up to 6 films on it w/out a problem.
2.A corrupt scene/film was ruled out (I tried several scenes/films - when placed in first position on the film/info tab the film can be selected and played back. when same film is in 2nd position it does not play back)
3.Bad DVD player was ruled out (I have 3 and they all play back other Arabesk burns fine)
When playing back on the Prestige the menu works fine!
4.When choosing the 'Trailer/Menu' option the second film plays right after the first one w/out first displaying the menu like it suppose to.
5.I have recently upgraded the OS from SE 8.0 To SE 8.1 could this be the reason?
Any ideas? Your help would really be appreciated.

Hi -
I have had the very same thing happen just as you described. I was beginning to think I was crazy. When you attempt the second film do you also get green vertical lines? Then my DVD player shuts down. AS you can see inmy profile I only have 3.x OS. I will be anxiously awaiting to see if you get any resolutions.

T.you Bonnie for responding. Am happy to hear that I am not the only one. When attempting to 'PLAY' the second film the 'active frame' which I programed to change to red, changes instead to green for a couple of seconds and then goes back to the menu screen without activating the film.I don't know if this is what you meant by 'Green Stripes' Hope someone will come to the rescue.

The reason I have not replied (and I would guess the same for a number of others on the list) is that Arabesk Version 2 is a few versions back... not there is anything wrong with your choice to stay there (except there are _so_ many more benefits in Arabesk 4).
One thing I would double check with either your supplier or the MS Tech Support team is whether the newer OS versions will properly support this older version of Arabesk (I am shooting 'in the dark here' but thought I would at least mention some idea).

Chet

Thank you Chet, I'll call them. The curious thing is that all worked fine after the installation of SE v.8.0 It's only after I installed 8.1 that the problem accured.

I have the same problem since I installed OS 8.1 in my Prestige. I am using 5 stamps and can only play the 1st one. I have tried different combinations, with and without a stamp. I am using DVD Arabesk 3.2d.
Thanks,
Hal

Hello,
OS 8.2 is currently available as a free download if you already own OS 8.0 or 8.1. I believe that the problem with the second "Film" play back is fixed in that addition. I have heard that a new 8.3 is being tested now and should be available in the future.
The advantages of going to Arabesk 3 are worthwhile and going to Arabesk 4 is even greater.
If you don't want to move up in either the free upgrade to 8.2 or to purchase Arabesk 3 or 4 then I would advise that you reinstall your Arabesk in case there was a glitch in the installation....and also the OS being re-installed might help as well. However, an update rather than a full install that erases everything, tends to leave any corruption that is in there already, still in the OS after the update. The full install ( by answering Yes to the second question and not the first ) will erase everything on the drive and lose all your projects that are on the drive at that time.
Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.

MSUS solved my problem as follows,
Here's something to try:
Remove all films from the DVD partition.
Go to Install Product and delete DVD Arabesk 3.2d.
Restart the system.
Go back to Install Product and Activate DVD Arabesk 3.2d.
Add the films and burn the DVD.

Hal,
Yep, that's what we suggested if you didn't want to upgrade to a newer version. Glad it worked out for you.
