By-Passing Media Manger for HD "YOU-TUBE" UPLOADS

I discovered a way to completely bypass Media Manager to utilize YOU YUBE in HD.

Simply, SAVE the project in the PROJECT area to your FLASH DRIVE USING BACKUP/RESTORE.

.Go to BACKUP/RESTORE AREA

.MODE: CHOOSE HDV. One can CHOOSE MTS but this will take much, much longer. The benefit of MTS is the ability for BOGART to IMPORT MTS files to a HD project via the RECORD WINDOW/USB window.

.CLICK: BACKUP STORYBOARD

.NAME YOUR PROJECT

.OK and RENDER to your FLASH DRIVE. I use a 16G Flash. There are 32 G available. One can also use a LARGE external drive for LARGE projects such as the LaCie HD.

.After importing to your flash media simply EXPORT to your DESKTOP

.OPEN UP YOUR YOUTUBE ACCOUNT or any ACCOUNT that you use on the Internet for displaying your video.

.The FILES produced above will automatically become HD files in YOU TUBE....NO conversion software is necessary or MEDIA MANAGER.

Thanks Guys! This appears really sharp using the HDV mode. Sure saves time. That is great news that it works in VIMEO as well. Was it automatically READ by VIMEO as a HD file?

Franklin.....TIM.......can you post some links if possible?

What about the file size?

Can someone compare the fileszie of, lets say a one minute clip in HD exported in HDV, AVCHD and Youtube720P (MediaManager) format?
Uload time can be very slow when working with HD clips.
A comparison with rendering time, file sze and quality (on Youtube) would be interesting and much appreciated :-)

Lou, I think Franklin was asking if it worked with Vimeo useing the same process you described. That's what the :?: was for.
