text box

I am going to try and explain this as best I can.
When I add text to a scene, render and do everything that I want with it and then add a new text box to a new scene, the text from the previous scene appears, what I assume as a default. How do i make the second scene become my default? It does change, but I cannot figure out what to do to make it change on demand. The reason I ask is that I produce a lot of sports videos for high school athletes. I number each play and upload the video for the athlete to view and give me the plays they want to use in their highlight reel. If I can learn how to make the numbers my default, it would save me several clicks from going into the archives.
I hope this is understandable. It is much easier to explain verbally.

I appreciate any help!

For some people this behaviour of the titling engine is a bug for some people it is a feature.
Well here is a way to work around this bug:

1. Open the Title Effects selection (T button in edit menu).
1a. Do NOT add the title effects symbol to the storyboard!
2. Click on Enter/Edit Text to start the Titling Menu. (you see your old "default" title)
3. Delete all the pages.
4. Quit the Titling Menu.
5. Now Add the Pages Titler for example.
6. Click on Enter/Edit Text to start the Titling Menu.
The old "Default" title should be gone now.

I hope that helped.

Thank you Volker.
While this did exactly what you said it would do, that is not what I want. I want the new text box to be saved as the default. Here is my situation. My current text box has a "Showcase Arena" in it. I have 50 scenes on the storyboard. I want to number each one of them, 1 thru 50. Everytime I add the title effect it shows the default from the previous title(showcase arena). I want to change that so when I add the title effect to the 50 scenes, it defaults to the new title, which will be the number 1. Once this is done, all I need to do is add the effect and change the number, saving edit time. As it stands now, I have to add the effect, click archives, click load, select the archived title, click ok, then change the number. This takes extra time, especially when working with several athletes that have 50 to 70 plays to number.
So the question still remains, how do I change the default text to a new default text?

So do the opposite Jeff, add the Title to the Storyboard first, set it to the font you want and that will make it become the default one until you use the procedure Volker gave again.

Jeff,

To cement what has been said here, if you wish to change your default title to a new title/font/style

1. While in the Title Menu, position the work-box on a scene with no title effect yet added
2. Click enter/edit text (without adding the title effect to the storyboard)
3. Click archives to load a previous/desired style -- or create the new and desired font/style
4. Now this has become your default title

Hope that helps!

Regards,
Chet
