what is the problem?

I am trying to track some music on a family video, and a song that says it is over 4 minutes long will not lay down the complete track. It quits somewhere in a minute or so. I have made no effort to drop volume, it just will not indicate the full length of the song in the sound track. There is ambient sound, which I am leaving in place, and the song, but the whole piece won't add. Ideas?

videojim, I had a simular prolem when I was editing with my Avio. In my case it was a cd a customer had sent me. I resolved it by putting it in Windows Media Player and then burning a new CD. I hope that helps Bob...

When you go into 'Audio Record, Edit' do you see the full length of the song in the list of audio samples? And when you play it back in/from that menu, does it play all the way through? If not, your audio element either was not imported fully or has become corrupt.
You would need to re-import that song.

If there is a different problem, please post the details/symptoms.

Chet

JIm,

You are not real clear here.

It physically is not adding the full length of the audio on the Storyboard or it is not playing back audibly for the entire length.

If the first, your Storyboard from the point/position you are adding it must be long enough or the Sample will auto-cut itself to fit.

If the second, if you are using Create in the Audio Mix menu it will in certain situations only render the visible portion of the Storyboard.

Advance the Storyboard in the Audio Mix menu to verify it has rendered the entire Sample or do so incrementally or switch to the Finish menu and choose Create to batch render everything in the Storyboard including the audio tracks.

Jim you might have a snippid of an audio sample laying on that audio track that's why it doen't go past that point try a different track and see if it imports in full.
Some times if you trimmed a audio sample down to a few frames you can not see it laying on the track it will also be hard to remove as it is not easy to put your cursor on it.
If that is the case remove the scene where it stops and re insert the scene in question ,it will also take the audio sample with it and will be removed from there.
Hope this helps.
