Help With AVIO!

So, maybe I'm late to the party on this one but I'm having a problem with my avio. I use the zoom effect quite often in my work. When I use it, it looks fine. After burning to DVD and playing back on a dvd player, it looks fine. However, when I play the dvd on a computer disc drive, every shot where the zoom effect was used has an irritating grey boarder around it. The main problem is I can't fix it on the avio before burning a disc because, as I've said, it doesn't appear until played out of a computer disc drive. I have not found a way to remedy this but am hoping someone here can help me out.

It helps us if you post (or even better) fill out your profile with information about your Avio that includes the Operating System you are using, amount of RAM, optional software, etc. Then we can suggest options for you.

If you enter unwanted border; effects examples in the search box in the upper right hand corner of this page a number of posts from a previous thread on this subject will come up. Just click on the highlighted text of one of the posts to navigate to the entire thread. Under the last post on a page near the right edge you may see small squares with numbers in them. You can click on one of these to navigate to the next or previous page(s) of postings in a thread.

Sorry, like I said i'm new to this and am not very tech savvy. It is an AVIO-DVD with Smart Edit 8 and 256mb RAM. Hopefully that's the info you're looking for.

You stated you are already using the zoom effect and burning DVDs with your Avio so you may be more "tech savvy" than you realize. ;)

If you have the manual for Smart Edit look at the section on System Settings and "Render Border". If you don't have the manual you can go to this website http://www.clamcamvideo.com/resources.html and download the full version 7 manual and the version 8 updates.e

If you have the add-on package Effect Pack 8 you could try the Black Border effect.

There are some excellent video tutorials available from MacroSystem http://www.macrosystem.us/index.php?pr=Home_Page Consider joining Club Casablanca for a number of benefits that would pay for the $49 membership fee, including discounts on the videos.

Chet Davis, the Casablanca Expert http://www.casablancaexpert.com/ is an expert on the Casablanca and a great teacher. His website puts an amazing amount of information and how-to's in one place. There are tips, on-line video tutorials, on-line webinars, and some very thorough DVDs. Some of the content is free and other parts are accessible with a very reasonable membership fee. He also conducts hands-on workshops in various cities across the U.S.

I don't know where you live, but there may be a Casablanca users group that meets in your area. If you can get away in March you should definitely consider attending Jim Meeker's March Get Together . Here's a link to a thread on this event viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2042

Welcome to the community.

Thank you, Ronald.

One resource that I didn't mention is the Cassie Tips List that's hosted by Carroll Lam. There's a lot of knowledge over there, but its not as well mannered as this forum and can be a bit more like the wild west sometimes!

You can find it by using the link in my prior post that gets you to ClamCam Video, the site where you can download manuals. You can find it if you look at his website and use the links in the orange bar at the top of the page where you'll see Tips. Pull down and select Cassie Tips List.

Hey Guys,

Don't forget the Main German site for downloads. They do have an English speaking version and it's here: http://www.macrosystem.de/e/index.html Then click on support and then when that page comes up click Downloads.
