I JUST PURCHASED A S 4100 WITH BLU-RAY (NEW LG) BURNER AND I AM HAVING TROUBLE VIEWING THE DISK. I AM USING MEMOREX 25G WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS COMPATIBLE WITH MY UNIT AND VIEWING ON A NEW SONY PLAYER. I HAVE BURNED 2 SO FAR AND NEITHER WILL PLAY ON THE SONY. I CANT FIND ANYTHING IN THE ARABESK MANUAL OR THE BOGART MANUEL THAT DESCRIBES THER BLU RAY OPTION. IN THE SETTINGS IN ARABESK I AM CHOOSING BLU RAY 25G AND AUTHORING MODE DVD VIDEO. I HAVE AVCHD AND AVCHD(DVD) OPTIONS FOR AUTHORING. IS THAT MY PROBLEM? I AM BRINGING HD FOOTAGE IN BY A CARD PLAYER/RECORDER. PLEASE HELP IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT I AM DOING WRONG.
MANY THANKS,
ANTHONY (VIRGINIA)

I guess you are burning a normal DVD onto a BlueRay disc. I think you should use the AVCHD format. I do not have a BlueRay burned on my S4k, but I burn HD onto ordinary DVD discs and these play in my BlueRay player. I see no point in burning to BlueRay discs as they are expensive and most of my videos are short enough to go onto DVD. By the way DVD means digital versatile disc. It does not restrict the format you burn on it. Its the same with CD and BlueRay discs.
Cheers Alan in the UK

The only "restriction" with using DVD media is that AVCHD is bottle necked at 17megs per second and will not support the full 24megs that a Blu-ray disc will support. This is not a deal killer by any means it still looks awesome. FYI

Anthony,
You will also find some valuable information about burning high-def DVDs using Arabesk 4 on the Bogart SE OS on the Macrosystem DE website here:
