S4100 USER BURN COMPATABILITY PROBLEM

I HAD A 4000PRO AS A DEMO AND BURNED SOME SD DVD'S ON IT FOR SHOWING AT A MONTHLY EVENT. THE 4000 HAD A PIONEER BLU RAY BURNER IN IT AND I BROUGHT THE HD FOOTAGE IN THRU A CARD READER. I BURNED OUT THE DVD AND SHOWED IT ON A SONY BLU RAY PLAYER AND IT LOOKED FANTASTIC! SO I PURCHASED THE S4100 AND BROUGHT THE FOOTAGE IN THRU THE SAME CARD READER, BURNED IT ON SD DVD (THE SAME EXACT ONE I USED ON THE S4000) AND TOOK IT TO SHOW AND THE PLAYER WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE THE DVD. THE ONLY THING DIFFERENT WAS THE EDITOR AND THE BRAND OF BLU RAY BURNER INVOLVED. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS WHY THIS SAME FOOTAGE WILL NOT PLAY ON THE SAME DVD? THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!

It might help to know what settings you used to burn the dvd. And the type pf blank dvd media you used.

What do you mean the brand of the blue ray player?

Are you talking about the burner or what you are trying to play it back on?

Some Sony's seem to have issues with Arabesk burned DVDs.

I think it might be the Arabesk folder that Arabesk includes beside the industry standard DVD Audio and Video folderss.

CRAIG,
I USED SONYDVD-R STANDARD 4.7G DVD'S FOR BOTH BURNS. AND MY SETTINGS IN ARABESK WERE THE SAME FOR BOTH BURNS

DVD MEDIA AND DVD VIDEO AUTHORING MODE.

TIM,
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE THAT I CAN FIND BETWEEN THE 4000PRO AND MY S4100 IS THE BLU RAY BURNER MANUFACTURERS ARE DIFFERENT. THE 4000PRO HAS A PIONEER AND THE S4100 HAS AN LG. THE FIRST ONE PLAYS ON MY SONY BLU RAY PLAYER BUT THE NEW ONE IS NOT RECOGNIZED. ALL MY SETTINGS ARE THE SAME AND THE DVD'S ARE FROM THE SAME BATCH. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE THAT I CAN FIND IS THE BRAND OF BURNERS IN THE EDITOR. VERY FRUSTRATING SINCE I BOUGHT THE 4100 ONLY AFTER DEMOING THE 4000 AND MAKING SURE THE DVD. THE REAL PROBLEM IS THAT MY DVD WILL PLAY ON EVERY OTHER DVD PLAYER EXCEPT THE ONE I JUST BOUGHT AND INSTALLED FOR THIS APPLICATION. THERE IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT GOING ON BETWEEN THESE TWO EDITORS THAT I CANT FIGURE OUT.

That is a bit troubling as MS is having to switch to the LG with the discontinuance of compatible Pioneer models.

I would suggest trying a DVD+R as Sony was in the original DVD+R camp.

I just recieved my new S 4100 with a Blu Ray burner, and so far my DVD's and the first Blu Ray I burned work in my players. Your mileage may vary...........

Craig,

Yeah, not meaning the sky is falling as Spring mentioned it plays in all the other players he has tried it in, but that it does not work in one that the S4000/Pioneer created DVD did is a hmmmm.

Spring,

Is there a reason why you type everything capitalized?

It's harder to read that way.
