When using your camera outdoors on a bright sunny, knowing you will use TWIXTOR in post, simply place your SHUTTER speed to 1/500th for the best possible slo-mo.

This is great for fast action sports!!

Of course there are variables such as a cloudy day, time of day and shadows.

When making multiple Slowmotions with the Twixtor software (for highlights or so) place all the scenes that you plan to use in the storyboard
and make a scene of them. Then run your Twixtor software over that scene as a batch render and then split it up into the scenes again.
PS. don't split it up right on the cut - the last frame goes a bit funny.
This way you don't sit there waiting for that one scene to render but you do the lot. You can do this while having lunch.

Tip. Before splitting the Twixtor slowmotions I run a sharpen effect of 3 over it as I found that it lost some of the sharpness after the effect.

Or you could use back-ground rendering and skip lunch :D

Tip; If you do use this for several scenes then try not to add any more after the ones that you want as (with the current OS) the actual individual render in progress will stop and start again from the beginning of that particular scene. You can, however, continue to do other work in the scene bin like trimming etc.

Hi Michael

Doing those Twixtor renders as a background render doesn't work for me because the machine crashes constantly.
Background render is only good for me for the transitions and not for IP effect.
Doing back ground rendering might be good for just a few scenes but not when you do 50+ scenes. :D
One day I did 7 min of footage and the machine took 2.5 hours to finish them ( highlight video of my daughters second year)
By the way I was using Bogart 3.1 but have down grated to 2.4 because of the instability and every thing seem to be fine.

Thanks for your imput.

One thing about skipping lunch some times it is just nice to have a break from editing and not feel quilty. :D
