I see the Smart Edit 8.3 Boot disk download at the MSUS site, but don't know what its for. What can you do if you do download it? Don't you still have to buy the software for upgrade?

Hello Jim,
Yes you still have to make the purchase and get the code to operate any software that you download, but the whole Idea is that you can download it in a short period of time and use it right away. In the case of additional software you can use it in the demo mode to see if you really like it before you purchase it.
In the case of the operating systems you have to have the code to that particular family of OS .....for instance if you own
OS 7.0 you would need to get the code for OS 8.0 if you wanted to use it. However if you already own 8.0 you can download all subsequent update versions of OS 8.xxxxx all the way up to 8.9 free.
The benefit of the download is that you can do it yourself and not have to travel to a distant dealer or wait for Boulder to send you a copy. You should of course support your dealer by purchasing it from him or her and they will provide the code for you to use to operate the downloaded version. It's much quicker and more convenient to do it this way.
Hope to see you at the MGT again next March....Jim it was good to meet you this spring.
