Can you edit on the USB external hard drive as if it was the internal hard drive?
Can you save SINGLE PROJECTS to the External USB drive both SD and HD without conversion from the internal? Does it save the footage in the I-FRAME format?
Since it is USB compatible, will the hard drive never fall asleep but keep rotating like the internal drive?
How much faster or slower will be the operations on the EXTERNAL DRIVE when editing HD and SD projects directly from that hard drive?
Do you have to load all your software to the external drive as well as the internal?

Re: Store and Share questions
Hello Paris,
The easiest way to answer all the questions about Store-N-Share is that it is just like having an external HDD (Hard Disk Drive) but it is accessible from your Project Settings menu. So - you edit to/from your external HDD when using Store-N-Share. Your current (internal) HDD remains untouched. You have 30 new project folders on this external HDD - and can edit in SD or HD just like on your internal. You can even (I am told) create several partitions or targets on your external HDD for different folders, each one holding the 30 projects!
I am not aware of the capability to move projects from your internal to the external (but I am playing with the software more today, getting ready for tomorrow's free Public Casablanca Expert Webinar).
I have not noticed yet any measurable difference in speed or performance when using the Store-N-Share... but will certainly 'leave the door open' for our colleagues in PAL who have had the release version of S-N-S for a few weeks.
Regards,
Chet

Re: Store and Share questions
Yes you can - it's exactly the same, although the two drives don't/won't talk to each other directly (i.e you couldn't clipboard between them)Can you edit on the USB external hard drive as if it was the internal hard drive?
You can but this isn't a part of Store 'n' Share, as such. You can use the external drive for both options (or even Hard Drive Back-up), space permitting. I've asked for an option for storing HD on an external without conversion but I don't think anyones listeningCan you save SINGLE PROJECTS to the External USB drive both SD and HD without conversion from the internal? It appears, from the use I've had here, that this is indeed the case - the drive just keeps on a' rolling . . .Since it is USB compatible, will the hard drive never fall asleep but keep rotating like the internal drive?
There was a suggestion that it might be slower. If it is, at all, then I haven't noticed it yet.How much faster or slower will be the operations on the EXTERNAL DRIVE when editing HD and SD projects directly from that hard drive?
No you don't. Once the drive is set up with Store 'n' Share it links to your installed additional software.Do you have to load all your software to the external drive as well as the internal?
This is why if you then plug that Store 'n' Share drive into another system, also with Store 'n' Share, it needs to have the same software installed and active otherwise you'll see a place holder where the effect, from the first machine, once was.
