Single monitor setting show recording?

When recording to my Prestige (OS 6.2c) in the field, I want to set my output to single monitor setting and connect my Prestige to a VGA/S-video/component/composite input LCD monitor. The video input to the Prestige is S-video. When I try this in the studio, there are three options. VGA1, VGA2, and VGA3. Video already recorded in the scene bin and story board plays back on the VGA monitor in any of the three settings. When I go to the record window, the indication is that there is "no video signal" even though I have a video source connected to the rear Y/C input and have the rear Y/C input selected as the source input. If I go ahead and select "record" the counter will begin showing time code being recorded and audio will show up in the audio meter but no picture. After stopping the recording and returning to the edit screen, the scene just recorded is there along with correct audio and plays back in the VGA monitor. I get the same results using any of the 3 VGS settings. Is there a setting in single monitor mode that will show the image being recorded on the VGA screen as it is recording??
Monitor FYI: VGA displays the Prestige output, S-video displays the output of the live switcher, composite displays the preview for #2 camera from the switcher, and component displays the output of the D-VHS backup tape recorder. The monitor PIP function will also show the VGA and live S-video to check audio and time code while watching the output of the switcher. Monitor is an 8.9 inch Manhattan 8900 LCD. Also has HDMI input not used in this setup.
