I am going to the finish screen and clicking on DV-Recorder controls then when the gray screen comes up I click on play and all it does is play the tape on the HD-700. what am I leaving out? It has always went to a pause on the hd-700 and Rec when I clicked the play button. HELP!!! Bob....

Re: I am doing something wrong!!!
Your profile doesn't mention what OS you're running. I have Smart Edit 6 and I must click on "Record to VCR" from the DV-Recorder Controls screen. Also, make sure your firewire cable is connected properly (both cam and editor should be off when connecting).
With my PD 150s I must have the cam on and set to VCR. Make sure you have a tape inserted that can be recorded on (flap is closed to allow recording).
When it's working properly, I can view the footage being recorded in my cam viewer. The screen only shows the counter.

Re: I am doing something wrong!!!
Thanks jpaul, I got it after much scrambling. I guess I'd better update my Bio, I am using SE 7. I am just getting old and if I don't do something often I lose parts of it. Maybe its the onset of alsheimers, probably spelled wrong. Thanks for you reply. Bob...
