Saving project to MiniDV tape

Post by fmoorexx »

I have been unable to save a project (4x3 SD converted to 16x9 without interpolation) to thumbdrive for upload to YouTube or Vimeo. I posted this challenge earlier, but no one had a solution, so the workaround I'm considering is downloading the project back to MiniDV tape and treating that tape like a new project.

Is there a straight-forward way to download a project to MiniDV tape?

Thanks.

Q: Are you dealing with HD originally?

Q: Are you able to EXPORT your SB to a thumb drive via the Project ARCHIVE area? You can then use that method to upload to YOU TUBE.

Q: To export to tape, simply go to the FINISH window after connecting the deck/camera via firewire to your system prior with both the unit and camera/deck set to "OFF-NO POWER."

You would need to use Archives in Bogart to export the Story Board to Media Manager and then from there export it to the USB Thumb Drive from Media Managers Video Archive - using the You Tube export settings.

Is this roughly what you tried or were you trying to get directly to the Thumb Drive in Bogart ?

In NTSC land, I have better luck UPLOADING to YOU TUBE via the BOGART side ARCHIVE project function. I use HDV (MPEG-2) and upload to my thumb drive. MTS (AVCHD) takes much longer to upload to a thumb drive. Media Manager is just an extra step and sometimes there are audio issues.

I then open YOU TUBE/VIMEO etc. and upload from the thumb drive via my PC.

I have been pretty uniformly disappointed or frustrated with any use associated to MM, myself and have found Lou's method simple, straightforward and effective.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.
