My first project with store and share was a disaster. I used a iomega 320 ext HD. I edited a full mass and went to record other footage for it got the hour glass would not shut down had to force quit after about 20 min. went to start up again and the words recovered from previous appeared and all but 2 scences at beginning were gone. Now I am afraid to use store and share. Has anyone else had any problems with store and share? :|

I tried another project using firewire. 64 min. I then split into aprox 10 scenes then went to arabesk add film none of my splits were there only one 64 min. went back to project I do not have any of the split scenes only the 64 min total. Has anyone had good or bad results with store and share? I believe Chet has done some things on it and has worked.

Q: Did you attempt to shut down S N' S from your external drive? Exactly what appears to be your problem will happen :-(

See the notes: http://macrosystem.us/media/Store_n_Share.pdf Go to the bottom of the release notes.

You MUST go back to the internal drive and then close down the unit. Can't close down from Store N' Share EXTERNAL DRIVE as the hour glass will appear and you must use a forced power-down. AND.....alway shut down the STORE N' SHARE external drive last.

.Exit STORE N' SHARE

.Go to your MAIN menu in you ACTUAL unit.

.Power-down from the MAIN menu.

.Physically power-down your EXTERNAL drive

*Never power-down from the STORE N' SHARE external drive-NEVER.

Hope this helps you.

Hi Lou. My problem is I was on external when it froze I could not get to the internal to shut down after about 20 min I force quit then when rebooted all was gone. The 2nd problem is when I split into scenes and went to arabesk to make DVD the scenes were gone all that was there was the 64 min scene. I did make a DVD and ended up with 14 scenes instead of the original 6 that I made. I am going to try another External today a Lacie 1TB will see what happens. I'm afraid to use the iomega one.

HUMMM....interesting. I wonder what would have happened if you powered-down the Store N' Share drive when this occurred? Maybe it is the external drive speed?

In Pal land the recommended ex drive was the Seagate Expansion 1tb which i purchased and no problems with, could shut down while on the ex drive and when booted up again it would be on the internal one. Can't use it at present as i went back to Bogart 2.4 and Arabesk 4.6

I don't have store and share but this is frustrating me for a while.
They release software without proper testing and expect us to do the UNPAID testing our selfs.
As Charles I have gone back to Bogart 2.4 from 3.2 as I found myself spending to much
UNPAID time to fix up the Bugs in this software.
Paid $250 for but is for me useless as it doesn't burn properly.

Hi Jeanton
There is an update for Arabesk 4.11 out have you tried that, not a lot of info on MSDE about it apart from,
-AVCHD bugfixes
- new AVCHD quality settings
- minor bugfixes
- needs Bogart SE v1.10e/2.7e/3.2e

I was going to try the demo version of the new titler but you need 3.2e to use it so between a rock and a hard place

Hi Charles

I don't even use AVHD just a straight DV burn would be nice.
Don't know if I am going to try it because it is not nice if the clients tell you
that the DVD freezes and skips and want it reburned.
Reburning in a different OS is a turnaround of 6 to 8 hours and I don't like to spend
that time every time it does goes wrong.
I don't think the benefits of real time editing and small improvements way up to the time you have to spend installing new software.
It is OK if you edit for a hobby but when you try to make some money from it spending more time than you need doesn't make sence to me.

Tried changing Arabesk a few time and that didn't work it was the OS.
Thanks for your advice but this time I stick what OS works.
