S4100 NOT RECORDING IN AFTER 40% USED MEMORY

Chet,
Do you have any suggestions about why my s4100 will not record in hd mode after it reaches 40% capacity of disk space. It just defaults after recording one frame and the only way to get it to work is to remove a lot of my archived footage and eventually it will record again for a week until I get over the 40% mark. This really costs me a lot of time by having to back up this footage on dvd and it isnt as good as the footage that is native hd. I called tech support and after $12.00 they have no ideas. I am also having errors and restarts every time I try to enter text that is archived when the editor starts up. After a couple of errors the archived text will work without throwing it into a shutdown. any ideas you have about the problem bringing in the footage would be appreciated. Sometimes it works but it wont import the whole clip just a portion of it. I have had so many problems with the hd projects, but I have to have the quality for our national broadcast, but the numerous problems have been very troublesome.
thanks for your help!
