what can you do?

I have purchased a PNY attache data stick, and wonder what I can move into the Renomee with it? Is it audio only, stills etc.? What will move on this device? If stills will move on it, how do you get the machine to recognize the input? Same with audio? Thanks!

With a compatible Flash (USB) Drive on a Casablanca Smart Edit, you can import JPEGs via either Photo Transfer or Photo Studio; you can archive and restore your Archives, you can import True Type Fonts, and you can import a .PNG file for the Place Graphic function in the Finish menu, and you could even use the Storyboard Archives function.

You cannot import audio or video (to my knowledge) via USB into/with a Smart Edit OS Casablanca.

Chet

Okay, thanks Chet. I will have to go back and look at the video on Photo Transfer, as I have forgotten what it is about and what it can do. But I keep the training DVD's around to counteract the information leaks I experience when I don't use a program much.

On the Casablanca Expert website there's an article on how to use a USB stick to import text files from a PC or Mac. The author points out that it's "great for long lists of names". :D

Go to the Casablanca Expert website http://www.casablancaexpert.com/ and type import text into the search box

Thanks Craig -- I forgot that one (and I thought I had them all ;)

one issue- Can't find a program called Photo Transfer among disc tutorials. Could it be disk transfer?

Neither Photo Studio nor Photo Transfer acknowledge a USB input for import (with a photo on the PNY Attache, and it was plugged in to the Renomee). I have v7 in my Renomee. Is this something that V9 fixes? I am stuck with burning CD's to transfer otherwise.

Cassies do not always work with all USB sticks. I know they do work well with Kingston Traveler and a few other brands. PNY Attache is one of the recommended brands. Smaller capacity (4 gb) work better than the larger sizes according to Chet. I use the Kingston Traveler 2 gb with no problems on Reno + and Prestige models. The photos do have to be .JPEGS.

In addition to what Bob wrote above, I believe that you need to use JPEGs that have been saved as 24-bit or even 48-bit color. This applies even when you are working with black and white images.

But, as I have said, I am using a 2 gig PNY Attache stick, and the Renomee doesn't recognize it. It only sees a data card or a disk. I saved all the pics as jpgs, as required before. But getting the machine to recognize that there is a USB drive with a file on it, is something mine is not doing. I gave up and burned a disk, and that worked, but am wondering what will make this work, or if it can be made to work?
