I'm doin Birdy's #2 disk, and working right along with him, but can't get the button text to go away in Arabesk. I shows nothing in my typing window, but the title remains. What do do? BTW, its interesting the differences I see when he's talking about what's in A2, and I'm following him in A4.

Hello Jim,

When you have text in your buttons or film icons and you haven't typed anything in the text box, the words are coming from the name of the film that you added. They show up in the "Films, Chapter Menus" page when you add each film. Just erase those names one at a time after you add the actual button name you want.

Having them there at first helps you locate which icon or button goes with which film. Sometimes if you have four or more films, it can get really confusing as to which film will be activated by which button. So having those names there at first is good.

After you have identified which is which, and added the name you really want there, go back to the "Films, Chapter Menus" page and erase those original names from there and then you'll have the name you want for each button.

I trust that this makes sense and will help you out.

Hope to see you again in March.

For you Jim or anyone else who is interested in a learning resource that shows the current version of Arabesk, I can recommend (perhaps immodestly) my Casablanca Foolproof Volume 2: DVD Arabesk 4 Intensive. I cover every button and function in this latest version of the software - details here: DVD Arabesk 4 Intensive

Chet

Chet,
Thanks, but MSUS's disk coverage in the Casablanca Video Manuals, and their tutorial on A4 in that group covered everything there. I was just noticing (and appreciating) the options I get on 4 that aren't in 2.
