getting a sound sample to sit at the end of another sample. It wants to start at the start of a scene, and I can't move it back to the end of the previous sample, where I need it. Ideas? Need step by step, thanks!

Jim,
To move/position an audio sample that is already added to any track in the Audio Mix menu you will need to use the 'Range' function (after selecting that audio sample), click and ensure the top left option in the Range menu is set to 'Position' (not Trim). Then you can use Start or End to move that audio sample to just the right place.
If you're wanting to add the same audio sample multiple times, one after the other (like ambient sound, etc.) I have found when I have that audio track selected and have that first scene in the workbox (in Storyboard) I can add again and again and it will place the audio sample after the last, etc. If you have a latter scene highlighted in the Storyboard then it _will_ position that audio sample at the beginning of that scene.
Here are some resources from the Casablanca Expert to help you out with this topic:

"If you have a latter scene highlighted in the Storyboard then it _will_ position that audio sample at the beginning of that scene." This is why I could not move the sound byte back to the end of the previous one, but your prior instruction fixed that. Thanks!
