when working in CB Paint, to use a conventional mouse! When using the trackball you have two fingers on the ball, and on on the side button. The situation may come to light that you need more control on the movement of the cursor than two fingers can give. Thus, the conventional mouse comes out, giving cursor motion control to the whole hand, making it more precise. This is why I got away from the trackball on my PC. Not enough precision with it!

In fact, I recommend the use of the Wacom Tablet with CB Paint. It offers exceptional ability to control your cursor when using many of the functions and settings in the CB Paint application. I have used a trackball with CB Paint but there are effects menus where it is difficult at best and a tablet (with digital stylus) is almost required.

Chet is 100% on the mark. CB PAINT really requires the Pen and Wacom tablet. Go for it over a mouse.

Funding and space for a Wacom being what it isn't, I have to settle for making up the paint job in another paint program, and bringing the finished work over as a jpg. Good idea for those with greater means than I.
