I have a hard drive that I purchased from another user. I loaded a project on it and I am trying to put titles on Black. When I go to create it has the demo logo transversing thru it. I went to install software and I hid all demo software and I still get the same thing. I have tryed different fonts and diffferent effects in an effort to see what the demo transition was. It seems to do it on all. Has anyone experienced this problem before? Thanks Bob...

That usually means you don't have the fonts software, and you only see it in the demo mode. That happen to me one time, all I done was put hide or delete in all the font files in the install program, put in the software disc and reloaded them. Other than that I have no idea.

Hello Bob,
I believe you are running into the dreaded DEMO issue, which is explained on my website here:
http://www.casablancaexpert.com/articles/20090116_8
Also, to ensure clarity here - when you insert/use a different/separate hard-drive in the Casablanca II (running Smart Edit) you must install the add-on software for each hard drive. All the software codes are saved in the unit but you must install the software on each sled/hard-drive you use with that one editor (the activation will 'automatically' pop in as activated once it installs).
Hope that helps!

Chet

Now that I think of it Chet you are right. I didn't install my add on software. Can I add the software with a project on it. I have put a project on this drive that I have about 10 hours invested in. I can dump it on DV tape so I won't lose all my work but it will still cost me a lot of time. Man what a dumb mistake. Thats something a rookie would do. DUH! Bob....

Bob, you're good, you _can_ install the add-on software on this new/other drive even though you have a project in progress. The only time it would be an issue is if you are working on a DVD and wish to upgrade or switch out the Arabesk software. Otherwise I believe you should be fine.

Chet

Did you install your current operating system before you started? There may a version of SE on that drive which is not licensed to your machine. If this happens it will run in kind of demo mode. Also a full installation will insure that it has the correct partition size for the DVD burner installed in your machine. i.e DL
