Imovie

For the first time, I need to get an .mov file from Imovie in a Macbook to the Kron....

THe cables are attached and I can import from the kron to the imovie, but not the other way...

I've previously used WIndows Movie Maker on my PC and that transfers video to the Kron using the "record" mode on the Kron...

Thoughts?
Thanks...larry kirschner-Kron user

Larry,

I have successfully imported iMovie files into my Bogart OS (S4000 PRO) using Disk Transfer, but that file was burned on a DVD using iDVD. I am not sure how your cabling is set-up... do you have a firewire cable coming out of your Mac into your Kron? Not all Casablanca models and Casablanca OS versions recognize or will communicate via Firewire with all computers. The most sure method is likely to export from iMovie to a DV camera or Deck and then import that video file via Firewire into your Kron (however, some versions of iMovie did not allow export to DV).

Sorry - lots of Ifs in this reply but that's the landscape with the two platforms you mention you're working with.

Regards,
Chet

Chet is correct in that there are many variables in your specific situation.

. In lieu of using firewire, can you input via a laptop to your KRON using analog cables like S-Video?

IF NOT.
Why not give the below a try as a possible solution, though, I have never tried it:

.Since you have the KRON, using the native .MOV file is not possible via a flash drive (USB) or via DVD/CD

.SO....export your iMovie .MOV file(timeline) to your desktop from your timeline using your MAC.

.Do a GOOGLE search for AVI conversion software. There are some free applications.

.You will need to convert the .MOV file to an AVI 2 format and only AVI 2. Place on a DVD/CD disc after conversion as a DATA file. You can use Nero or Roxio etc. or whatever software presently used for making a DATA DISC

.Place in the DVD drive of your KRON and open up DISC TRANSFER

.The KRON should read the AVI 2 file-the only type Gen 2 models will recognize........import to your scene bin.

Nota Bene: The whole secret here is to make a perfect AVI 2 file as a data disc so that disc is readable in your KRON.

Poor mans work around. Burn a DVD in your Mac and Play it into the Kron using a DVD player with S-Video and RCA audio cables. Not sophisticated but reliable and easy. :D
