Importing Photos to Prestige

Post by Bobsday »

When importing photos to my Prestige running Smart Edit 3, all photos from small point and shoot (digital) cameras import fine. All photos from Canon GL2 still images import fine. However, when I try to import photos shot from a Canon 50D digital SLR camera, the photo is distorted and only about 10% of the photo displays. HOWEVER, if I trim about 10% off either side of the photo so that that it appears to be a 4 X 3 aspect ratio, they import and display fine! Please help, I have 340 to import!

This is a speculation on my part. Unless you are importing into Photo Studio, your photo files should be in the neighborhood of 720 X 480. Try one and see what happens. Photo Studio allows for larger files, but I think there is a much larger size limit there as well. If the smaller file works, you have a lot of re-sizing to do. If you ARE using Photo Studio to import the photo files perhaps someone else can provide you with the size limitations.

Thank you very much. I tried resizing the photos to 720 X 480 and yes,it works. Wow, is there any other way to load these things in and get the editor to like them? It seems that I have to resize them all to get the thing to go. The worst part is the 320 I need to do on this project. What do I do on the next, and next? I guess this is my life!!! Thanks, Bob

If you're on a Windows computer - I recommend using Irfanview. This freeware allows you to run batch modifications (like resizing). Find our more here: http://irfanview.com/
