Hard Drive Running Slow

I have an Avio with swappable drives and last night when recording a football match stopped recording after a few minutes with the message "hard drive running slow"

This is the second time in a row this has happened. I would add that the Avio is locked in large wooden cabinet permanently connected to the mains supply but a bit open to the elements in terms of coldness as it is on a gantry at a football stadium but under a roof so there is no chance of water getting in.

I did manage to swap another drive and this worked OK but had travelled with me to the ground from home so wouldn't have been outside.

I just wondered if the recent cold weather had affected it or it is perhaps on its last legs.

Cheers,

So I understand the Avio is always in outside atmoshere?
I would not do this because of humidity may cause many mishaps.
Corrosion is one of the main factors.
This will also affect the harddrive.
Under these conditions permanentely connected to the mains is
highly dangerious.
You should park the Avio when not in use in a dry inside place.

Hi Hans,

It is not exactly in an outside atmospere, it is locked in a wooden cabinet with other equipment (DVD recorders etc) that is then covered up so is insulated from moisture and probably no colder than parts of my house

This hasn't been a problem for the past 4 years.

The problem with storing it eslewhere is that it will have to be lifted in and out of a car and up and down ladders every week so this wouldn't do it much favours either and after a few months of doing this with another Avio for away matches, this one does appear to have given up on us.
