its been a while since I have upgraded. I am still using a Sony PD-170 (4:3) and editing on my Prestige which I still love and in SD its great. Hoever I want to start ofering Blu-ray. I picked up a used Sony Z1u 1080i and thinking about getting a Bogart S-2000 unit. Please let me know your thoughts about this unit and how the final Blu-ray DVD looks on a hi-def TV. Thanks

Hi.. I purchased the s-4100 because of the size and power that is needed for editing HD. As for SD the unit is phenominal. I havent shot any HD yet as I havent purchased an HD cam. I am a wedding videographer and almost all of my bookings for next year want only SD. That is a huge mistake on their part, considering you are comparing 480i(SD) to 1080i(HD). I have chosen to stay with tape (HDV) because I'm more comfortable with it, archiving, and ease of editing(much more quicker rendering than AVCHD). I would not try to build the prestige into an HD editor. It takes hours to render HD, with the prestige you might be talking all day. Sounds like you got yourself a nice cam! Good Luck..Pat Nigh .. The 3000 is out now and this new line is really fast. You might want to consider that when making your selection.
Check out the speed comparison on the MSUS web site or on Chet Davis' site.....
