I have all the video manuals and tips and tricks etc. I am wanting to do some lower thirds and forget how to do them.
Want a ribbon across the bottom where I can insert some text. Any help appreciated... I am using a Solitaire Plus with SE 9.1 with most software made for Generation 2 machines.

Hi Dave and Pauline. O H . Go Buckeyes. You can use titlebax or rectangle and size and color to what you want. If you want you can give me a call 330-922-5606 Thanks Lowell Brockway

Thanks for the information and the quick response. I know about the TitleBax but didn't think about the rectangle. Hmmmm Good to hear from you. Will miss seeing you at the MGT, we are doing a pageant that weekend.

To expand on Lowell's rectangle suggestion. For the section with the lower thirds, I split the scene and make a 7 second split scene where the lower thirds is to go. (any length of your choice can be used here) I use a "box" sized for the lower thirds location. I use a still "graphic" in the box and type in the name and titles on the still graphic. The lower thirds text lines are produced using "line fade" for the text. A scene is made of the finished 7 second scene. Next, I "insert" the new graphics scene onto the original 7 second scene and use a 1/2 second cross fade at each end of the 7 second title graphic scene. This give a nice fade in of the lower third graphic and the title line fade in and out and the lower thirds graphic fades out. It goes much faster than the explanation. By "Archiving" the lower thirds box/graphic and title graphics, it is very quick to use in the future.

To add to what Lowell and Bob have shared, I presented a webinar back in May 2009 on the ability to add a graphic behind your text to create cool lower thirds and other title elements.
This continues to be available in my Public Webinar Archives here:

Thanks for the suggestions for the lower thirds. Think I can do it without a problem now. Glad to hear from everyone.
