hi... this is my first post in the forum to which i just registered. When i finish a project and burn a HIGH QUALITY or NORMAL QUALITY DVD, the result is very low quality. I cannot figure out what i'm doing wrong in arabesk (4.4 version). I"m setting things up manually, the menu comes out fine, and everything seems ok. but when i play back the resulting DVD, it looks like very low resolution. the graphics are jagged edged, video is low quality, etc. can someone explain why this is and how to fix it? thx- i'm a professional video producer and it is vital that my dvd masters are of high quality for my clients who burn more than 1,000 copies.

oh, sorry....

canon XL1
bogart 2.4
mini-DV
no HD

the thing is, i've made successful burns before, but it doesn't burn well ALL THE TIME. i'm not sure what i'm missing, but my dealer who helps me on occasion (he was unavailable today) told me a specific procedure and i cannot remember if i'm doing it correctly. it's like it burns great sometimes and other times no..

are you using the same dvds all the time. I burn 8x on 8x and on normal setting. My dvds are fine, but remember that SD doesnt look that great on wide screen LCD tv's. Your taking 480 and trying to stretch it to 1080. There will be some artifact. And the closer you sit, the bigger it gets.

If you are using the XL-1 in 16:9, make sure your project and ARABESK is SET to 16:9.
