I have the Sony HXR-NX5U the recording settings at default 1080/60i I do not get any sound. The default setting for audio is Linear PCM or I can set it to Dolby Digital. Any special settings for the 4000k. Do I need to set the camera different?

Are you using the external HD attachment?
-Sony NX-5 -AVCHD internal cards work. There is an external HD
and there is a report that Bogart SE did not recognize the same
Are you using the camera as the USB device?
Are you using a card reader?
Are your SD cards CLASS 6 and above?
Is the USB cable a new cable?
Did you try another new card after initializing a new card?
Did you shut-down the camera while still buffering to the card?------causes a COMPLETE corruption of a card.
Don't use Media Manager....use the BOGART side? MM is known to close-down and lose audio at times.
Trying to isolate the variables.

I am using a card reader through Boguart. A class 10 card. I can't figure how to run the video out through the camera. I take the cards out and load by the usb reader. The card loaded fine into my apple and I used imovie to make the short video. I can't use the imovie for bigger projects. I have the audio set for DV on the 4000. I will try a few more options.

Connect the Cam via USB-Cable to S-4000Pro.
Set project to either 1440x1080i or 1920x1080i
Go to record menĂ¼ and highlight USB-Record
Your cam files will show up
Chose desired files and OK
After read-in of files those are in your scene bin.
Here in Germany we had some reports that cards
containing AVCHD-Footage won't work using a cardreader.
Seems it has to do the cardreader isn't high speed capable.
So please try using your cam for importing

Tried to load through camera, the unit started to load then after a few mins it went to a blank screen. I have loaded sd video, but could not auto split without loosing audio sync. If I load hd I get the video, but no audio(using a card reader). I will try again tonight to load through the camera, but will not let the unit go to shutdown mode.

Since you mentioned that the camera is shutting down was wondering: Are you using the 'electric supply' for the camera?
I think camera will perform with the full charge of electricity, and will have difficulties and problems with battery, when trying to load.

I dont think its the camera as it still shows connected to the usb and says do not disconnect until the compter is powered down. I think the Casablanca is going into shutdown mode.

Are you using BOGART 3.2?
I did have some shutdown problems before upgrading to BOGART 3.2.............but now, my S4000 is working very well not shutting down. BOGART 4 is coming, but
I feel 3.2 is very stable and the pricing will be 'tiered anyway' so purchasing 3.2 now would be a good investment.
Also, you say that you think the Cassie unit is shutting down............what is it doing? Going to black screen? Do you need to re-boot? Changing the menu?

Set it to Dalby - PCM seems to be beyond the comprehension of the Bogart system for now . . .

The 4k screen goes to black and I have to do a forced shutdown. I will change the audio on the camera to dolby and run a test.
