How can I send footage to my PC? Can I use firewire?

Yes, simply connect a firewire cable between your PC and Kron WITH THE KRON TURNED OFF.
Power up the Kron, bring up whatever PC firewire capable software you are going to use (even Windows Movie Maker works for this) and set it ready to Record.
It is best to have a little lead time at the beginning and end of your Project (say five seconds of Color Bars or some such) as you will be manually starting the export on the Kron and manually starting the Record on most PC programs.
Go to Export menu on Kron and choose firewire export and start it, then start Record on the PC end.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for the info. BTW- I just changed my profile. I'm using the S4000 now. I will need to go back to the editor from the PC too. The firewire I have doesn't have identical ends. One end is a 2 pt. and the other end is a 4 pt., as I think you call it. Will that reverse with the same cord? ( From the camera, of course, I just use the double 2 pt. cord.)
Thanks, Diana

Diana,
Total bummer, ignore everything I said when using a gen3 Bogart machine like the S4000 as MacroSystem has never figured out how to get firewire to work between any of the Bogart machines and a PC.
There is some interconnectivity via ethernet and Media Manager, but I found it sporadic and a headache to get quality results most the time.
On the positive side it's pretty easy to use the Project backup function to export to a USB stick and import via USB to your PC with a software capable of that if you have a large enough flash drive for your Project.

Oh wow... I don't know why but there are a lot of bugs with this unit. My husband and I own our business and we (he, especially) really like Casablanca editing systems, even with the bugs. We do a lot of different kind of work- events & weddings, corporate, legal, tv commercials, and on and on... whatever anybody needs, in this economy. If we can do it, we will do it!
The only thing is we've come across several problems with the S4000 that really need to be fixed. Text jitters when moving, the chromakey doesn't work very well when we have small objects like logos to place onscreen, can't animate them, the picture in picture is blurry and won't animate smoothly. It jumps pretty badly.
We've had it for about 2 1/2 yrs. and there are no fixes.
I know the company has had some trouble, but I hope they are getting back up on their feet. I hope we're not on the back burner still...
We've written a letter, but don't know what's going on.
Despite all this, we like the simplicity of the editors! We would much rather have fixes than switch - right now we are having to supplement with other PC editing programs.
Weelll...Sorry if long-winded. Thanks for your help! That saves us a lot of time! We'll use a USB for now and get the project done.
Let us know if you've heard or do hear anything about these problems being addressed. If any of it is user problem, we haven't been able to figure out where we would be going wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Have a great day!

Hi Tim, since you use the S4000 maybe you can answer this question for me. Kevin gave me the footage I needed on USB like you suggested. (Thank-you!)
However, the footage went into my program on my PC in a 4:3 size. No clue why. Don't know if it's something on the S4000 end, the way he exported, a default setting there, or some sort of default setting in my program. Have any ideas? It came as a .dv file. This is the first time we've tried this, so we don't know where to check first.
Thanks!
Diana

I have since sold my S4000, but as long as this was from a 16:9 set Project in the S4000 it should export 16:9 automatically.
So the issue should be a setting in your PC program.
Look in the display settings of whatever PC program you are using first.
