when performing an upgrade to 3.2 from 2.4, is it possible to do a partial upgrade instead of a full install?

Yes, you can perform an update going from Bogart V2 to Bogart 3.2C but MSUS Tech Support almost always recommends performing a Clean Installation.

If you take this route with an S machine you will need to enter all your lic codes again.... and there are several even if you have not added any additional products. To save lots of typing you can store them as a text file (lizenzen.txt) on a USB stick by using the icon at the bottom of the install products window. Then, after installation and reloading any additional products, use the stick to re-load all the codes which will be automatically allocated.

Far be it for me to disagree but we have not found is so necessary to carry out full installs with S machines, unlike SmartEdit machines where a full install is regarded as good housekeeping. ;)

In the NTSC models, it is HIGHLY recommended to do a full install. I have observed circumstances where the gremlins from a prior software or OS, transfer over to the next "UPDATE ONLY."

A full install wipes everything clean and eliminates/isolates any carry-over issues.

The biggest problem, I've found, is when people "down date" - go back to a previous version of Bogart (trying to find one that suits their machine and work style) but not by way of an install - i.e. keeping all projects and data on the machine.

This really does seem to mess things up big time (and I'm not at all surprised).
