I have a S4000 Pro with Bogart 3.2 and Photo Transfer 1.9. I want to transfer a photo from an HD project set to 1920X1080i When I go to the software and select "export" it will recognize my 2gb Kingston Traveler or my PNY 5gb USB thumb drive, but the identified usb drives are greyed out and no transfer takes place. I have check the archives and Chet's archives but find no solution. Anyone have an answer or solution??

Hello Bob,

So to ensure I understand you -- your can see your USB drives in the list of available devices, but they are not select-able? I would normally suggest you connect your device/s prior to launching the Photo Transfer menu but that is usually for folks who are not seeing the device listed in their devices available, because you see the device that likely would not be of any consequence.... sorry, I am baffled as well.

Hopefully we will both learn something from a colleague who has an answer!

Regards,
Chet

That is correct Chet. I have tried inserting the USB stick before and after launching Photo Transfer. I just tried inserting 2 USB drives. When I launch photo transfer, the stick are not greyed out and I can switch between them but The HD image will not transfer. After I click OK there is a momentary blip on the Edit screen, but nothing shows up on the stick. In the past when using photo transfer with type II OS, there will be a very short transfer sequence on the edit screen and the image will appear in the stick when I click on Import.

BOB,

. Use another USB port and there are also issues if using an extention cable attached to the USB port in Photo Transfer. If you have a cable attached, remove same and plug the USB drive directly to the port or another port.

Also, if the USB is greyed out see the last line of this posting regarding bad sectors.

.Make sure you have the latest Photo Transfer downloaded. There were some issue in a prior Photo Transfer working in conjunction with HD and some USB sticks not being recognized.

NOTE WHEN EXPORTING HD MATERIAL>STILL FRAMES: HD stills are a little reluctant to transfer at the same speed as regular SD material in Photo Transfer.

.Most likely you have the latest update so do the following:

.EXPORT at the highest quality

.Unlike working with SD material, you have to wait a few minutes longer for the HD material to actually export to your USB stick, even though it states completed.

.Let the stick stay in the USB port for several more minutes. You can NOW check the transfer via IMPORTING BACK to the scene bin.

.The above should work unless you have corrupt sectors on your USB stick. If that is the case, use your PC to correct the error. But, I am sure, waiting several more minutes will result in some great HD transfers of still frames.

However, if the above instructions do not work, I can think of no further information to help.

Thanks Lou. I deleted a prior version 1.9 and install the 3/11 version 1.10. The image loaded onto the same Kingston 2 gb usb drive quickly with no problems.

I had trouble with photo transfer to USB sticks, using a variety of sticks. Someone on the forum told me if you have trouble transfering photos to USB sticks in the dual monitor mode on the S4000 switched to single monitor mode. It worked fine. I don't know if that would be your problem, but it's worth a try.

That was before the fix.
