add film freeze

I have had this happen to me a few times a while ago. Well it is back... If I have a corrupt file and go to "add film" for dvd creation, the blue bar will freeze when it gets to that corrupt file during the "add film" process. Is there anyway to figure out where the corrupted file is? Sometimes it is a frame or two at the front or the end of the scene and I will go through and trim each scene by that much. When that doesn't work, I am not sure what else to do. Starting from scratch is not an option. The only other option I can think of is to firewire it to my editing software on my pc and burn a dvd on that.
Any other suggestions?

What I would try first is, Make a scene of it, clipboard it to another project and then set up your "add film" project again. Anytime I have a problem burning a DVD, and yes, I have, I go to an another project and then come back to the project you are working on and everything is happy again..... I hope
What happens to me, is I get everyting set up and test the program on a RW disc and it works O.K. Then when I try to burn a new blank, I hear the drive whirling, suddenly the prompt comes up, "Unable to write program on this dics" You can even see a faint line on the new disc like it started to write the program. Go to another project, and come back and it will burn the disc.
What else I would try , is transfer it to tape and reload it back by firewire and start over spliting the scenes, go to arabask and try adding the film again. Looking for a corrupt part of the program is quite time comsuming, as you well know.

Going to tape I think would be the best bet.
Believe it or not, I was able to find the corrupt file. Based on where it would freeze during the add process, I determined it was withing the first 12 minutes. I tried "adding" the scenes individually until I found the one that wouldn't "add". It took me 8 hours of the day to find it though. Once I did, I added NOP and all was fine. I am not sure if that is what NOP is designed to do, but it worked.
