claro and high def
I'm long past-- physically and monetarily-- of investing in the horribly expensive (and presumably complicated) new high definition cameras and editors, but my dear old Claro (SE 5.2) apparently will handle high definition. If this is so, it might be handy to handle edit jobs for the grand children, most of whom have cell phones and other point and shoot high def cameras. But as my only method of feeding input to the Claro has been mini tape, just how do I handle the hard drive or digital card storage of high def, presuming that the blurb with my machine assures me it is "high definition capable." posting.php?mode=post&f=14#

Re: claro and high def
I'm afraid that it would be via the Firewire lead only - HDV, so phone/card/USB options are out.
However even if you did load HDV footage onto the Claro the rendering times would be enormous/horrendous

Re: claro and high def
Thanks Michael--that's what I suspected and I assume the phone cameras and most of the high def cameras haven't got firewire ports?
