Need recomendation

Post by rone »

I need to capture old slides on SD/SDHC card for insertion into my Solitaire. Does anyone have a recommendation on a unit for under $200 to get the job done?
TIA

Hey Ron,

Some scanners come with an adapter to do this and then makes JPEGS. However, it will be a manual and tedious, time consuming job if you have 'tons' of slides. CANON LIDE 80 is one.

Your other option is to borrow a slide projector and try to find a telecine converter. You will then use a camera in the film chain. Using a wall screen etc. will display key-stoning.

An example of a telecine converter: http://cgi.ebay.com/DELUXE-VIDEO-TRANSF ... 35b47811ef

.When completed either to your Camera's SD card or tape, import into your editing appliance

NON: BOGART................................................
Split each slide as an individual clip in your scene bin and then use photo transfer software to a USB stick. Take the USB stick and transfer via your PC to a SD card.

BOGART:
No need to use the split function if you stopped the camera after every slide and you cameras capture media is a card. When importing into BOGART 4, simply check off the box to make 'separate scenes' while in the RECORD WINDOW. No need to manually split plus you can automatically adjust your imported material to the proper color sat etc. while it is being imported via the OPT menu in the RECORD window.
When the slides are in your scene bin, you can either use PHOTO TRANSFER for .jpegs or use the NEW scene bin OPTION which allows each individual and chosen scene to be exported as an AVI file wrapper, which is really Mp4 to card reader or a USB stick.
