System: S-3000

Issue: Recording daily HS news show. Want to generate (output) copy of the show onto flash drive to send to the main office each day.

Is that possible? If not, what are the output options? Record to DVD?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Which BOGART version? I didn't see it in your profile. Bogart 4 has a new output feature that I use all the time now. Of course, there is Media Manager and another way to avoid Media Manager.

BTW: FYI. Chet has a great tutorial to purchase on Media Manager and included the codecs. www.casablancaexpert.com

I'll check which version of Bogart we have-its the same version that came w/ it-no upgrades yet.

However, how can I use the Media Mgr to generate an output file?

If you update to BOGART 4 you can output (with a click of the mouse) using the OPTION window to an external source such as a flash drive. Then, give the files to your client. It is that simple.

Media Manager requires various steps....first archiving, entering the movie icon..................then transferring the files..................then locating a codec..............then exporting.

Join Chet's tutorials at http://www.casablancaexpert.com and also purchase the Media Manager Intensive DVD-step by step instructions.

The steps are too numerous and complicated to post here and half the time the results are finicky for me.

Another option is to save the files in the project window using the HDV (faster) or MTS (REAL slow) by using the "backup storyboard" function and saving to a flash drive.

HUMMM......I used DIVIX and it was soft. It was confirmed with a viewer as well.

I used the AVI method here and looks good in HD:

I will try the 720AVI, but don't want to downscale from 1920X1080 because the 720 will get a different codec on "YOU TUBE".

Perhaps DIVIX and AVI 720 is excellent for websites instead of flash? I will check it out.

Lou,

I installed Bogart 4 but I cannot find the option to export my project.

Can you give me more explicit instructions?

After we record our morning tv show, we play it via Finish-Record to VCR which outputs to our cable feed.

However, I want to be able to output the complete show to a flash drive.

Any advice is appreciated. Regards
Mike.

Media Manager is a somewhat "Dog and Pony Show" for exportation. In BOGART 4, the developers now allow us to use the EDIT BIN OPT. button. Simply make an entire scene of your finished storyboard and take that scene via the OPT. button to your Flash Drive. You also can save the scene bin as an HDV file via closing out your project and saving the storyboard. Chet has a good tutorial on his site about Media Manager and saving files. www.casablancaexpert.com

Agree Lou with the "dog & pony" show but the quality of the file is _WAY_ superior to the heavily compressed mp4 from the new Bo 4 export feature... Night & Day.
This being said if all you want is a fast upload of a simple video file to be seen online then yes that new feature can be helpful in speeding up the process.

All my web-based material is exported to AVI via then OPT. button in the edit bin. You Tube compresses anyway. All my other projects are saved in the project area to HDV. I find that DIVIX, in Media Manager produces a soft image on my PlayStation3.

I am curious what other codecs and file size is being used in Media Manager and IF there is an issue with audio?
