Hello Everyone!

I am tring to import video from a little Sony Hard drive camcorder (DCR SX40) into the Renommee, this is a first for me and maybe it won't import but I don't see why not

The Sony has an output with a weird little shaped cable connector at one end of the cable and the standard RCA threesome at the other end of the connector cable - so I stuck the RCA's into the front imput of the Renommee.

Then I figured out how to play the video clips from the Sony and tried to record it into the Reno the way I ususlly do through the record window.

The Reno message says no video input.

So, does this type of hard drive camcorder not recordable by the Renommee?

By the way, what is that output called in that little Sony? It is shaped like the front of a Quanset hut, if anyone knows what that looks like! :D

Thanks,

Kim,
I believe the connector you're asking about is Sony's proprietary AV connector - with the RCA/Phono plugs on the opposite end.

A check shows that the DCR SX 40 requires you to select settings to enable output to these plugs: Home>Settings>Display Output>V-Out/Panel>Ok>Return

On your Renommee you need to also confirm you have selected the PCA/CVBS ports you are attempting to use.

Hope that helps!

Regards,
Chet
