DVD playback on PC?

A client called and said that the DVDs burned on the Renommee will not play back on his PC. Funny, I always played them on a DVD player, but never a PC. Am I missing something in the burn process or is it necessary to burn the DVD on a PC for compatability?

Wayne, I'm sure you'll get some expert advice soon, but in the meantime let me say that I've always been able to play Arabesk dvds in my PC. I'd say your client has an issue with his/her PC drive. Have you tried popping it into another PC or dvd player?

PCs no problems with DVDROM drives. Macs - - Leopard software will not play back Arabesk DVDs or .avi DVDROMs. Tiger OS OK. Figure?

Bob,

I want to ensure you heard that this issue has been remedied with the release of a free update : DVD Arabesk 4.1d.
You can read more about it here.

Regards,
Chet

Yes, normally the issue is a client is trying to play a DVD in a PC that only has a CD-Rom and is not a Renommee problem, but simply one of a client not understanding there is a difference between CDs and DVDs. . .

Be sure to confirm that the customer's "PC" is really a PC and not a Mac running "Lepoard". Much like a "Xerox" copy when referring to computers. :?: :?:

As Chet has mentioned above I can confirm that Arabesk v4.1d DVD's are fine on Max OS X Leopard;

"We announce a new update for DVD Arabesk 4.
This is a free update for customers who own DVD Arabesk V4.x.

Notes:
** Arabesk 4.1d can be run on both Smart Edit and Bogart SE machines.

** This new update of Arabesk 4 addresses the following:
- 16:9 films with moving a chapter menu will now play main films correctly in 4:3 mode.
- Further checks done during the add film process and menu burning.
- DVDs burned are now also compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 (Mac OSX Leopard)"
