I hope someone answers this question, because I often wonder what the difference was. I tried it out myself in both, but didn't see any difference. I think it might mean something about the screen size........ Take it away Lou Bruno.
As far a progressive and intergrated 1080, since shooting and editing in HD, I always use progressive, That way you get away with the jagged edges and lines in the fine detail, it does depend on the monitor you are view the video on.

I think that your camera model only records in the HDV 1440 X 1080i mode therefore, you should set your project setting in the Casablanca to 1440 X 1080i and import in that mode. If you were trying to mix other camera footage that was shot in the 1920 X 1080/30p, then you could import in the 1920 X 1080/30p and the Cassie will up-convert your cam footage to work in the 1920 resolution format. As far as "seeing the difference" there is very little. When making a Blu-ray DVD, using the HDV mode will render faster.
I personally shoot and edit all of my commercial projects in the full HD raster of 1920 X 108030/p but when I shoot long record time events, I switch to the HDV mode in my Sony EX1. It gives me an extra 20 min. per express memory card.

I thought the FX1000 could shoot full HD (1920x1080) as well as HDV (1440x1080), but I could be wrong.
You should use the mode you shot the video with.
If you are shooting with any HDV cam it's the 1440x1080 as that is the native HDV recording mode.

All HDV is 1920X1440 via tape. If you upscale artifacts are introduced in the dark areas. Besides, ARABESK renders 1440 faster.

As many of you already know, the HDV format itself is fading. The dominant video resolution is now 1920 X 1080. HDV looks great though & I like the fact that my camera is switchable. Even $200 HD pocket cameras are 1920 X 1080.
It's all good.
