I almost always use a tripod, dolly or crane for capturing steady images. Always use a quality microphone system for top-notch audio. I guess I will take the S6000 leap and will probably start looking for funds to pick up a Canon FX300 for next production starting in late March. Really trying to get that shallow depth of field, controlled lighting and composition for film-look. Important. Also thinking of shooting in 24p mode vs the 30p or 60i. Will this be a problem with the S6000? Also planning on using the 1940 X 1080 at 50 Mbps.

Will I have any problems? Anything in advance I should be aware of? Thank you to all who offer suggestions or comments. I am not sure of what I am getting into using this new-to-me-technology...

No Problems at all. The XF series works well in BOGART. Shallow DOF and 24P? Why not a HDSLR? If using the XF300 beware of interline twitter so keep the detail to -7 or else horizontal and vertical lines will shimmer. It's the camera issue not BOGART. I went over to the Panasonic AG AC-130 22x lens and much better bokeh albeit AVCHD.

My experiments with 24p and our editors was not good I shot with the Canon 5D & I use to own a XF300.
The footage looked strobe especially when panning. My favourite is the 5D shot in 30p I love the look.
The XF300 was such a sharp camera that the bit rate in Arabesk wasn't fast enough to handle it when I burned DVD's
I had to dial down the sharpness in the camera to avoid shimmering issues with any fine details like leaves on trees for instance. (which defeats the purpose of getting the camera in the first place)
For me this was a huge problem and the fact that the XF300 is not very good in low light convinced me to sell the camera and added more SLR's
This being said the XF300 is the clearest picture of any camera I have work with !! Outstanding but I too prefer a film look and for me I find I get the results I want with HDSLR video
& the DVD's burned in Arabesk look stellar.

Are our editors capable of processing progressive video? And if so which models and which versions of software? I don't think my S4000pro is capable of it, it will not work with video from my Panasonic HDC-TM700 set to progressive.
