Clips hesitate before getting up to speed

When I play a clip or the storyboard, the video is in slow motion for a few seconds and then jumps and plays correctly. I am running Bogart 2.3d. It has been this way for quite a while. Any solution?

Most importantly for S4000 Pro, update software to Bogart 4.1g Just my opinion.

I just did update to 4.1g and now the clips and storyboard hesitate and audio is out of sync. Motion is slow and jerks every second.

These clips and projects with hesitation are all DV, standard definition. I just looked at projects in HDV, and they are perfect. There is no hesitation and audio is right in sync.

Phil,
I have a similar issue with my S4100, and like you it only happens when I'm editing standard definition DV.
However, I've found that if I finish the project and burn it to a DVD, the resulting film is fine - no stuttering and the audio in perfect sync.
So it's an irritation when editing but it's not a disaster.
I suggest you try burning a section of your story board to DVD and then see if it runs properly - if it does, then just grit your teeth and carry on editing the jumpy footage.
Cheers,

After a clean install of 4.1g, the stutter was every second and not possible to edit. I contacted MacroSystem and they suggested either returning the machine and waiting three weeks for them to get to it, or see a local PC repair place to test the hard drive and RAM. I took it to a local place. The hard drive tested out OK. I am now going to have them install new RAM. We will see how this works out.

I always hope for some conclusion from the person who writes about the original problem. Rarely do they post a conclusion. Here is mine.
Macrosystem's repair department is backed up, so after I did a full install of 4.1g and things only got worse, they suggested having a local PC tech check the hard drive and RAM. I did that. They checked the hard drive and that was fine. So they installed and upgraded the amount of RAM. That solved nothing. The clips still stutter, more noticeably on standard definition, but also on HDV. I reinstalled 4.1g. Again, the symptoms continue.
Conclusion: I purchased a new S6000. I am waiting for it to arrive.

Sorry to hear of your problems Phil, I shoot and edit in SD also. When I bought 4.1g I read the "Known Issues" pages that came with it and said "not again, another product not fully developed before being released", so I decided to not install it. I just love buying stuff that doesn't work right.
