Picture Perspective Vertical Scroll.
Which effect pact, if any, does this. We have this for titling, but for pictures? I want to add a picture to the scrolling titles. I'm using Bogart OS. Thanks

Re: Picture Perspective Vertical Scroll.
Hi Paul, some time since we last talked, hope you are keeping well.
First thoughts, there are a couple of options, of which I have not specifically tried either, so I am talking a little off the top of my head here.
The first is Title Effects Pack 1, which enables a text or graphics box (which can be a PIP) to be moved on a scene, in your case it will be a V-Scroll scene. The second is the PIP –Studio program.
Both options would take a little trial and error, but if you first prepare your V scroll title, leaving a gap where you want the picture to be positioned and then make a scene of the result.
Obviously I do not have the detail of where the PIP is to be placed, but if you split the V scroll into three, the first just before the PIP gap appears, the second just after the PIP gap has gone (the same time length as your PIP) and the third the rest.
With the PIP-Studio method, prepare your PIP scene (which can be video or a still) but will need to be the same time length as the gap in your V Scroll. i.e. the time your gap first appears to the time it goes off the screen.
Place the 2nd V Scroll scene in the story board followed by the PIP scene and use PIP-Studio to set the movement of the PIP to match the gap in your scrolling title. Make a scene and put the three scenes in the story board.
The trial and error will be matching the speed of the PIP to the V scroll.
If your are having trouble, give me some more detail and I will try the effect and let you know how I get on.

PIP STUDIO 3-D will work perfectly. You can designate MOTION with your pics plus utilize layering all at once. I believe Chet has a tutorial on PIP STUDIO 3D. This will work well intergrated with your request as you can adjust the waypoints and keypoints, introduce a second and continual layer of scenes, add frames around the scenes, shrink and enlarge the scenes, rotate them, scroll etc. etc.

Re: Picture Perspective Vertical Scroll.
Thanks for that, yeah it's been a while, life has gotten the way. lol I know how to do your first post but I need a Perspective Picture Scroll to combine with the Title Perspective Scroll, Star Wars type titles scroll with a picture to scroll with the titles. So you think Titles 3D would do it? I can get "some what" what I'm looking for using the effect I've got but it really looks amateurish and doesn't really work. Good question for Chet, he's the man in the know. I'd hate to go out of Casablanca to do this.

Paul,
Do you need/desire to have the photo scroll along with the text, or ?
Sorry, I need to wrap my brain around your specific request...

Yes Chet, with the text. I have been trying to use green screen combined with another effect for what I desire because I need to have the picture supered over the back ground picture like in Star Wars.

Re: Picture Perspective Vertical Scroll.
Like Chet, I was not sure exactly what you were trying to achieve, but had the impression that you wanted a graphic to move with the scrolling text, not unlike a text / graphic wrap around document, scrolling up the screen.
You do not list your programs, so I’m not sure if you have PIP Studio 3D. As said this program has many advantages over the normal PIP Studio, particularly how the PIP looks and behaves. However, the travel (scroll in your case) rate is basically the same principle and will still need some trial and error when trying to match the PIP travel speed to the text travel speed. Both have a start and end point, with the option of adding as many way points as required.
The main difference is that with PIP Studio 3D, the travel speed can be independently set between the start, mid and end points. However, since the V scroll is a constant speed, this is no advantage in your case, you just need to match the PIP travel rate with the V scroll rate.

Re: Picture Perspective Vertical Scroll.
OK, OK since I’m not a Star Wars viewer, I did not understand what you required, but I think the penny has finally dropped. It’s my age you know. The text is not only scrolling up, but also reducing in size, like it is disappearing in the distance.
Well this is doable although maybe a little more difficult.
Again both PIP-Studio and PIP-Studio 3D allow you to set the size of the PIP start point and end point, so the PIP will look as though it is travelling away from the viewer. This can be done in the “Effect” – “Edit effects” section of the program.
Where PIP-Studio 3D has a big advantage is that as the PIP moves up, it can be rotated in any plane. So by changing the program H angle at the finish point, the PIP will slowly look as though it is tilting backwards, as though the bottom edge of the PIP is becoming visible as it reduces in size. This change in angle combined with reduction in size gives the effect that it is moving horizontally away from the viewer.
This effect would work even better if you used it in combination with Deluxe Titler 3D, since the text also can be made to rotate backwards as it reduces in size.
So it is possible to do the effect you require, but infinitely more difficult to explain, than it is to demonstrate.
You would of course still have to match the speed of the PIP to the speed of the text, which ever method you use. You will also need to match the size reduction, so that the PIP and text shrink at the same rate. However, can be done.
I’m not sure what DVD demo’s Chet may have, that would explain this process, but I’m sure he will jump in if he has such a DVD.
If all else fails, if you can give me a little more detail, wording, timing, etc, I will try it out and give you some pointers.

Re: Picture Perspective Vertical Scroll.
Thanks for all that Ian. To see what I'm talking about go to the titling program Perspective VScroll and try it, that's what I want the picture to do, to follow the text. I would have to green screen the picture I want to perspective scroll because I want to keep the back ground video. Timing would not be a problem, I'm used to getting the timing right after many years of practice with the Casablanca. I'm still running OS 3.2c so not sure if P in P 3D would work for me.

It is doable, I think. I have just spent an hour playing about with the process, with some success, it is not a simple job. Just by way of a challenge I will, when I have time, have another go.
My S6000 reset button has been in use a number of times, I don’t yet know the specific cause, but positioning the PIP off the screen will occasionally crash the unit.
The other big issue is that the perspective V scroll is as it says a perspective effect, however, whilst the PIP can be reduced in size as it travels with the text, it remains square. The text also fades as it travels. The PIP can also be made to fade, but not at the same time as it reduces in size.
The main none detail steps were:-
1. Split the V scroll scene such that the text where the PIP is required is just about to appear and ends at the fade out point.
2. Make a PIP scene the same duration as scene 1 above.
3. Put 1 and 2 in the story board, select “transition” set the duration to the full time and “launch PIP studio.
4. Use the program “Effect” and “Edit effect” to set the PIP just off the bottom of the screen at the size required, put in an end point and move it to where the text fades out. This will also need to be angled in to match the perspective and the PIP size reduced to match the text size at the end.
All this can be done with the “OUT” fade set to zero and the “IN” set to maximum.
Unless you are familiar with the PIP-Studio program, this is not for the faint hearted.
