That was it! In Chet's Eye Candy video, it dissolves right over the opening of it, and how to get to it. At least my copy does.

Glad you found the Candy Factory software Jim. For clarification - my brand new Eye Candy One Tutorial DVD is not intended to serve as comprehensive instruction on each of the software packages for the 17 effects presented, but rather a guide to using these various software products to create some really cool looking scenes.

You can check out this spanking new tutorial (3-disk set) on my website here: http://www.casablancaexpert.com/store/products/45

Chet

That's good, it just would have been nice to see how to get to Candy Factory. Been awhile since I last opened it, but it won't now. BTW, I got through about 5 or 6 yesterday, and it looks good so far.

Help me understand why the CANDY FACTORY is in the transition menu. I don't understand how it would be use as a transition. As for me, when ever I try to use CANDY FACTORY in the transition menu, my S-4000 Pro shuts down and restarts. Tried it several times. Guess I'm going to have to get Chet's CANDY FACTOR DVD. Could it possible it be, it won't work unless I do get Chet's DVD?

Don't confuse CF with something like BorderX or straight archived patterns.. CF uses alpha channels and depends on the scene next to it for manipulation in the SB. Get Chet's DVD!!!

Ron,

Think of Candy Factory as an effects tool (package) that allows you to impart a stylized effect onto one scene using the contents of another scene -- this is commonly a title - white font on black background, or can be a shape, mask, etc. Candy Factory is driven off what is called luminance keying (rather than chroma or chrominance keying).

If it's not working on your Casablanca - since you're on the Bogart OS; first ensure you are using the CF version that is compatible with Bogart OS. I am using Candy Factory V1.1

While I cannot say that getting my Casablanca Foolproof Volume 7: Candy Factory Intensive will cause your software to work in your editor, I can tell you it's a great learning opportunity. There is SO much you can do with Candy Factory and I run through so much in the 2-hour and 10-minutes of lessons on DVD. PLUS the package includes a disk of scenes
so you can practice along with me! You'll find this tutorial DVD in my online store here. You can also order this product from your Casablanca dealer (friends across the 'pond' can order this from Dalco UK).

Regards,
Chet

Hi Chet,
I was only joking when I said, I might need Chet's Candy Factory Intensive DVD to make my Candy Factory work.

I tried to order three of your instructional DVD's on two different computers and can't get through on either one. I guess I'll try to get hold of Ken Smithers to order them.

I was using the web on-line order form and when I tried to purchase the DVDs, it would sit there for a long time and nothing would happen. One of the DVDs is the Candy Factor Intensive. The other two are Kitchen sink and the Title Effects . Do you still want me to go through Ken, or can you help me out with this?

Ill check to see if the Candy Factory is for Borgart O.S.tomorrow.

Sorry for the difficulty you experienced ordering in my on-line store Ron! (and I know you were kidding :D)
I can give you a phone call tonight or tomorrow or you can order through Ken if you prefer.

I have had a small handful of other customers indicate difficulty with the on-line store recently - I believe they are all using Internet Explorer as their web browser (do you by chance as well?).

Regardless, I am in process of finalizing a web store on Amazon for my tutorials as well - should be up by next Monday.
Will send you a message off-list Ron.

Thanks,
Chet
