Footage is jittery

Ok new problem. I've recently upgraded my S-4000 pro to Bogart SE 4.1g I backed up all my projects onto an external hardrive first then did a full installation. After loading all of my projects back onto the system, everything in HD has dropped frames. A couple of times I've looked at the footage and the dropped frames aren't there, other times they are. I tried re installing 4.1g with the same result. Then I tried to re upload the old operating system (2.4c) but it did not give me an option to do an istall with out erasing everthing first. The SD projects look fine. I've read about the dopped frames thing as being a glitch with 4.1g but wanted to see if there was a solution.
Also, I've been trying to use an HDMI converter to S-VHS to upload video from my PC onto the S-4000 pro. The video looks great going in but when I play it back it looks jittery. And now when I try to upload anything through the S input even regular DVD and VHS it looks jittery. What's going on here? Please help.

Tell us your monitor set-up. Is it 2-monitor mode or single?
.What are your monitor resolution settings?
.Do the drop frames appear in the finished product? OR Just when playing back from the scene bin?
.The converter issue: I am not a big fan of converters as I have one. I notice sync. problems are an issue sometimes and not the fault of the OS.

Hi Lou, this is a 2 monitor set up. VGA and DVI converted to HDMI. I've tried both resolutions available for DVI monitor with the same result. Dropped frames. Did not try playing just on single mode VGA. I did go ahead and install bogart 2.4c after backing up everything again. The S-Video inputs are now working properly again and the HDMI converter to S-VHS out is not producing jittery footage off of the PC. So that is good. But all the problems I was having with my project before I backed it up and downgraded the operating system were still there once I did a project restore. (Using DV back up to restore the storyboard.)
Right now I'm restoring all of my projects (using HD restore) back onto the hard drive to see if I will still have dropped frames in the HD footage. If it looks good I will upgrade the operating system to Bogart 4.1g and see what happens. If the dropped frames come back after that I will check out the footage in single monitor mode.

Got it! Try using just the HDMI/AVI single mode instead of the VGA side. See if that works for you plus try the two resolutions.

Ok after restoring my projects onto the system with Bogart 2.4c loaded as the OS, all the dropped frames on the HD footage have dissappeared! Which is great! I'm now worried when I put 4.1g back on my dropped frames will come back. So I'm going to finish this one project before I do. The HD footage does still have a blur or distortion at the very bottom right half of the screen that was worse when the DVI monitor (in system settings) is set on 60i. It looks better but not perfect in 60p. Still a curious issue. I will post another update when I re install 4.1g.

To answer your previous questions Lou, the dropped frames were in the scene bin and story board. I have not created a disc with them so I don't know if a HD disc would show the dropped frames. But I did create a disc with the jittery footage thinking that it would not show up on the disc only on the computer. But I was wrong about that too. The disc was just as jittery. Also I just posted a new topic, after installing 2.4c and watching all my problems dissapear I now notice that for some reason 2.4c did not load default effects or transitions. Can't create a black clip or do a crossfade. What is the deal with this machine?
