Deafault effects and transitions not loaded

Hello Everyone,
Has anyone ever had their default effects and transitions not load when installing the operating system? I had to install Bogart 2.4c, replacing 4.1g for reasons I won't get into right now. It worked fine but all default effects and transitions are missing. I can't create a black clip or a simple colored screen. And I can't do a simple crossfade. They are just not listed. If I click on default in these screens the selction is blank. Just to be sure I re installed the OS again with no luck. I can import a black clip from another project using the clipboard, but come on! What's going on here?

It sounds like you didn't load the default software such as the Pro software which you have to do when you do a full, destructive install.

I've installed everything. My machine has all software that is available. Are you talking about Pro Pack V 4.0? It is active. I can try deleting it and re installing. And when I installed 2.4c it was a full installation. The machine calls these efffect "default" so I figured it was installed with the OS.

Well deleting Pro Pack did nothing. It does not include the default software. All software is active. Can you tell me what software specifically you are talking about? I've re installed the os twice now and still nothing. Can't make a still scene among other basic tasks.

WOW! This is a new one on me. Hummm.....you observe NO defaults in even special and new?
Are the various effects, patterns, transition windows just blank?
How many softwares are "hidden" in the INSTALL project?
Did you use a USB etc. plugged into the unit to enter codes via the install product?
Did you get a prompt asking you to install 'Bonus Effects' when you went back to 2.4?

I had a vague memory of this and sure enough, I think your problem is this... when you performed a clean installation and went back to Bogart V2 you would think you were ok, but V2 required some of the software that was present in Bogart V1. I believe if you load Bogart V1 and then update to V2 you will have your missing operators returned.

On the advice of Chet, I checked and sure enough Bogart 1.7c was not activated. After doing so I now have all my default effects under new. Color, black, kseraba, etc. I also now have Color to grey, control colr, cotrol image, etc under special. Those were missing also previously. I still do not have crossfade in my transitions. I tried re booting but nothing. All software is active. I'm probably missing other transitions but right now I'm not aware of it. Just missing crossfade. thanks Chet. If you have another thing I can try please list, thanks!

Ok nevermind! Though crossfade was missing for the transitions list, I changed the selection at the bottom from "All" to "default" and bam! Crossfade showed up. When I went back to "all" crossfade was listed. WHew, glad we got that figured out. Thanks again to everyone. Always something to be learned.

I said it sounds like you hadn't loaded all the default software such as the Pro software (yes, Pro Pack).
I have been away from the software/system for a couple of years so it's hard to remember all the various default software and their names.
Bogart 1.7c was the default software you apparently had not activated.
I agree it is less than intrinsically obvious what is and is not the default software.
Sorry, I was not available to be online until now today.
Glad you got your transitions back up and running.

I am so glad that worked and you now have your default set of effects available.
That bottom selector has 'got' me a few times as well - as recently as last month... it is a nice feature to have when you want it but important to remember it's there in my moments of brief panic
