Animation in Photo Studio 2

Question,
I'm borrowing an S4000 to rush through a photo montage for this weekend and to my surprise, it appears you can't adjust the size of the boxes (in or out) with regards to the Animation effect in Photo Studio 2. Please tell me I'm missing something here; I can't belive this option is not available, pretty much makes that effect useless.

Hi John
Some time since we last talked, hope you are keeping well.
I’m not sure if I have fully understood your question, but you are talking about the PS2 Collage and not the Animation, correct.
If you are using the PS2 animation, it works just about the same as the Smart Edit version.
If you are making a photo collage, which is something I do not use a great deal, after setting the background colour and then “New box” the selected photo appears with a + sign in the top left corner and the photo can be positioned. Click and the + sign moves to the bottom right corner and the photo can be resized.
Left clicking then opens the menu for several options. If you need to change the position again, move the pointer over the photo (a hand appears) click and move the photo. To resize, move the hand to the lower right corner until it changes to a double headed arrow and resize.
If you have used the “Rotate” from the “Edit box” the photo can be repositioned, but it will not resize, you need to change the rotation back to 0deg, to resize, then rotate again.
Also if you are going to make a photo into a background, it is best to change the “Box format” from “Source” to “Free” and it can then be made to fill the screen.

To resize, move the hand to the lower right corner until it changes to a double headed arrow and resize.
For some reason last night, I could not get the double arrow to appear as I was trying to move it to the corners of the box; I'll try again and move the red arrow to the lower right and see if that does it. I don't recall that when using the Animation with my Prestige; I thought I use to just move that arrow near the corners (any corner) of that dotted box and it would automatically show the split arrow and allow me to re-size.
I'll try going to just the lower right corner, hope it works - thanks Ian.

John, it works differently in Bogart. You can't just grab the corners and adjust as before. Within animation, go into "edit" and you can resize and reposition using your trackball or keyboard.

A shame they made a total mess out of that on Bogart; I will be using my Prestige, even with the longer render times, it will be more efficient. The keyframe movements are a mess and require a ton of toggling back and forth. Wish I could use the faster render times....

It took me a while to get comfortable with it, but I kind of like it now. I don't spend a whole lot of time using PS2, most of our montages are done by one of the girls on a different system. I do use it with the printed programs to scroll the names of the participants.

I think the boys in Germany forgot to carry-over that feature, seriously.
They copied over most of the program, but forgot or didn't pay attention that in the older program, one could place their cursor on the box and change it's shape and position with ease. The keyframe stuff was always there; so, leads me to believe they have no clue they left that off.
If anyone has a number to contact them, please forward this info.

Hi Folks,
just an idea.
Please try Photo-Studio3---V3.4a in demo-mode.
I think this will help solving the problems
PS3 is only for Bogart use.
Animation & Collages are no problem.
I use PS3 many, many years by now and I'm happy with it.
If I remember well it was recommended many years ago
to replace PS2 by PS3.
